Who We Are
Our Story
God is always up to something. Our church was planted as a campus of Heartland Community Church in 2019 out of Heartland’s desire to partner with God in how He is moving in Medina County. From the beginning our goal has been to be attentive and obedient to the Holy Spirit as God shapes and forms us as a family following Jesus together. We don’t have it all figured out. We’re messy. But we’re growing together and learning to trust him with all things; our relationships, families, finances, possessions, bodies, feelings, thoughts, and decisions. We believe three simple words best sum up the way we are striving to live as disciples under his lordship; Jesus over everything.
Our Values
We Over Me
We believe that to embrace Jesus and His Kingdom is to be adopted into His family. Rather than viewing God’s family as an unrealistic ideal, aspirational metaphor, or future reality, we rejoice at the gift of new brothers and sisters. As members of God’s family, we are invested in one another’s well-being and committed to bearing one another’s burdens, recognizing that “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.”
Everyone Gets To Play
We believe that Jesus has equipped his whole family to participate as God builds His Kingdom. We will work to help every person discover their spiritual gifts, equip them to use them, and provide opportunities for them to bless others through the local church. We serve together as brothers and sisters, honoring each person as a blessing from God, made in God’s image.
Humility
We recognize Jesus as the true head of the Church and our church. Therefore, we strive to heed his instructions about power
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:26-28
Practically, we are committed to a plurality of leadership, practices of discernment, and prioritizing faithfulness over the idols of productivity, efficiency, and speed.
Words Matter
We believe that words create worlds. We work hard to speak with integrity and clarity so that we may be credible witnesses to the good news of Jesus.
Our Beliefs
The foundation of who we are and all we do is the conviction that the one Holy and eternal God, Father, Son, and Spirit, has made himself known in Jesus of Nazareth. We confess that Jesus is Lord, submitting to His rule and reign over every facet of our lives. We believe the Scriptures tell a unified story that leads to Jesus, and seek to faithfully live by them through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in light of the tradition and wisdom of the historic and global Church.
We are a part of the North American Baptist Conference, and operate under the constitution and bylaws of Heartland Community Church.
Vision Team
Our vision team is the group of individuals responsible for the spiritual direction and discipleship of our church as we follow Jesus together. The first iteration of our Vision Team is currently in development and will be installed in December 2023.

Phillip LaHue | Worship Director
Phil hails all the way from Wadsworth, OH where he lives with his wife Emily and their kids, Piper and Borden (Bo). Raised in a wonderful and supportive Christian home, Phil started really taking his discipleship to Jesus seriously as he prepared to propose to Emily, realizing that without Jesus he’d surely make a mess of things. Since he and Emily joined in 2016, Heartland has played a major role in Phil’s walk with Jesus. In 2019 Phil entered vocational ministry as he and Emily felt called to be sent out as a part of Heartland’s Williams Campus as the campus’s worship director and Phil continues to fall deeper and deeper in love with Jesus and his church. He came on staff full-time at Heartland Williams in 2023 as the campus’s second full-time employee. Phil and Emily are delighted to be raising their two kids among a family of people at Heartland Williams who are dedicated to supporting each other as they practice discipleship to Jesus right in the middle of their ordinary lives. In addition to working at Heartland, Phil is also a mental health counselor and enjoys working with a handful of clients each week. In his free time, you can often find Phil hiking with his family, reading, playing board-games with what some would describe as “too-much” competitiveness, or noodling around on his guitar.
